The XP 3.0 is everything we liked about the XP 2.0, but more, and better. The brakes are hydraulic disc now, motor is more powerful, the drivetrain has more high end, the fork has more travel and the rear rack is now integrated into the frame, increasing this e-bike’s carrying capacity.

The motor still produces 500W nominally, but peak wattage has climbed from 850 to 1000 and torque has climbed from 35Nm to 55Nm, making for a much more powerful ride.

Previously, the 14-28t freewheel didn’t have enough high end to allow a rider to pedal much over 20 mph. The freewheel has been upgraded to an 11-28t, which may not be enough for 28 mph, but it will definitely deliver a rider to speeds greater than 20 mph.

By upgrading from mechanical disc brakes and 160mm rotors to hydraulic disc brakes with 180mm rotors, the XP 3.0 is much easier to control than the XP 2.0.

Increasing fork travel from 40mm to 50mm may not sound like much, but it’s a 25 percent increase and will make a noticeable difference in the rider’s comfort at the bar.

By integrating the rear rack into the frame, its carrying capacity doubled from 75 lbs. to 150 lbs., making it able to carry both a kid and some groceries.   Read More ElectricBikeReview.com
