Focused Build Support Package 15: The Final Bi-Yearly Release Brings Key Enhancements

We have just released Support Package 15 (SP15) for Focused Build, marking a pivotal milestone in the evolution of this powerful project management tool. As the last bi-yearly release, SP15 delivers a mix of some highly requested features, usability enhancements and stabilization.

Key New Functionalities in SP15

Here’s a breakdown of the key features and changes introduced in SP15.

Project Management Made Flexible

Deletion of Created Projects
Projects in the status “Created” can now be deleted without any additional dependencies, allowing you to clean up unwanted or test projects more efficiently.

Inconsistency Detection for Synchronized Projects
A new diagnostic tool identifies inconsistencies between synchronized projects. This ensures smoother operations within the Focused Build Projects application, helping you prevent potential disruptions.

Improved Transparency and Usability Across Applications

Expanded “Where Used” Functionality
The “Where Used” feature now displays not only direct usages but also references within the process context, providing a holistic view of interdependencies.

Enhanced Filtering in Work Package and Work Item Applications
New filter criteria have been introduced, allowing users to filter work packages and work items by tester or test team. This addition improves usability in test management workflows.

Language Flexibility in My Test Execution App
The Attachments tab in the My Test Execution app now supports on-demand viewing of documents in all available languages. This makes multi-language test documentation accessible and easy to manage.

Developer Dependency in My Defect Correction App
The app now includes a dependency between the developer field and the development team, enhancing collaboration and ensuring that defect correction workflows remain consistent and structured.

Refinements to Existing Tools

Checklist Step App Harmonization with CRM UI
The My Checklist Step app has been more harmonized with the CRM UI, providing a consistent and intuitive user experience across tools.

Strategic Shift to Annual Releases in 2026

SP15 is the final bi-yearly release for Focused Build and SAP Solution Manager (SP20). Starting in 2026, updates will move to an annual cadence, focusing on long-term stability. This shift reflects SAP’s commitment to providing a robust and reliable solution for managing complex IT projects.
