For the last 7 years, during my time at SAP in the Global Center of Excellence, I worked closely with Esri engineering and others within SAP to integrate ArcGIS and SAP HANA and to demonstrate the business value of putting the ArcGIS geodatabase on the SAP HANA platform. As SAP customers began to adopt RISE, a question was always raised: what about my assets in ArcGIS Enterprise which are one of the key systems of records for enterprises? If SAP ERP is moved to the cloud, the GIS system of record needs to be moved as well.
