What Gets Exported?
The PDF report includes:
Project InformationWho and when exported itFilter applied information: Requirement identifiers such as status and other filters selected, Indirect Assignments and linking objectsLinked artifacts: assigned user stories, test cases, features, and defects with key attributes
How to Export Requirements in PDF Format
Exporting requirements in PDF format from SAP Cloud ALM is straightforward:
Navigate to Requirement Traceability: navigate to the Requirement Traceability
Select Requirements: You can select individual requirements requirements you want to export.
Generate PDF: Click the export button to generate the PDF file. The system will process to create a PDF document containing the selected requirements with a Cover Page that contatins the project name and details of person who exported the document and when.
Alternatively:
Apply local filters in Traceability Application: such as specific requirement status, scopes, Solution Process, Tags etc.Toggle indirect assignments: If you turn this on for Test cases and Defects, the app includes not only directly linked items but also those indirectly associated through intermediary links.
3. Export to PDF : The exported document now captures these exact filter settings, including indirectly assigned test cases and defects with a mention of the linking object in the relationship table.
This means the PDF isn’t just a static snapshot—it’s a reproducible view. Anyone who receives the document can understand exactly what was included in the export and recreate the same view in the application using the same filters.
This new enhancement bridges the gap between digital workflows and offline documentation. More enhancements such as Requirement description and change history are on their way. Stay tuned for more insights into PDF export functionality in SAP Cloud ALM.
