Welcome to the May edition of our Top 10 News in SAP Cloud ALM!
This month, we’re thrilled to bring you a variety of exciting updates and enhancements designed to streamline your experience. We’ve been diligently working to introduce new features and improve existing ones to help you manage your implementation, operations, and transformation processes more efficiently.
Let’s dive in and explore these updates in detail!
IMPLEMENTATION UPDATES
1. Streamline Document Creation with Templates
Enhance your document management process by utilizing templates to maintain a consistent structure across your files. This feature allows you to create new documents quickly and efficiently, saving you time and effort. To learn more about how to create and use templates for your documents, please refer to the Application Help section on Creating Documents.
2. Solution Process Viewer Now Displays Assigned Interfaces
When you call up the details for a solution process in the Solution Process Viewer, you can now see information about any interfaces that are assigned to it. As well as the name of any assigned interfaces, you can also see their respective IDs and a icon, representing the Process Authoring app as the origin of where these interface library types were created.
Note
The Interfaces section is currently only shown if corresponding assignments exist.
3. Enhanced Process Assignment Search
In this release, we have introduced a more efficient way to assign requirements, user stories, and tasks to your solution processes. When assigning these items, you can now easily identify them by their unique IDs, which are displayed alongside their titles. Additionally, we have implemented a powerful search functionality that allows you to quickly find the desired items by searching for specific keywords within their titles, IDs, or the titles of their associated scopes.
4. Interface Relationship Management
Simplify interface organization and establish clear relationships between interfaces using the new feature in Libraries. With the ability to assign and unassign interfaces to other interfaces, you can now create a hierarchical structure that reflects the dependencies and connections within your design system. This feature enables you to maintain a clean and organized interface library, making it easier to navigate and understand the relationships between various interface elements.
5. Enhanced Requirement Traceability Data Export with PDF Support
The Requirement Distribution app now offers a convenient and efficient way to export requirement traceability data in PDF format. This new feature enables users to generate comprehensive reports that include a professional cover page, a well-organized table of contents and detailed information about each requirement. This functionality is beneficial for users who need to share or archive traceability data in a standardized and easily accessible format.
OPERATIONS UPDATES
6. Improved Business Service Management with Planned Availability Events
Business Service Management now supports Planned Availability events for private cloud systems. These events, which are either created by SAP or in the Event Calendar, represent up-time reservations required for service requests. With the introduction of Planned Availability events, you can now configure Event Actions specifically tailored to this event type. For more detailed information on Planned Availability events, please refer to the Event Types documentation.
7. Quick Access to Preferred Managed Components with Favorites
The new Favorites feature allows you to mark your preferred managed components, making them easily accessible from the Favorites section on the home page. Favorites are displayed regardless of the selected scope, enabling quick navigation to frequently used services or systems without the need to define the scope each time. To add a service or system as a favorite, choose the required components in (Select a Scope), apply the selection, and then select (Add to Favorites) on the card of the preferred service or system in the Home Overview section. For more information on using favorites, refer to the Application Help.
