Hi All,
We can be able to integrate SAP Integration suite with the satellite IoT Data Providers which is an innovative as well as an emerging concept that has vast applications in logistics, defense and agriculture. It involves capturing of the data from satellites which includes geolocation, weather and asset movement while integrating it into the SAP systems like S/4 Hana, EWM and TM via SAP Integration Suite.
USECASE:
Imagining a logistics company with the fleets operating in some remote areas where GSM/4G signals are not available. Now, satellite IoT devices are often installed on the devices that could send telemetry data like location, temperature via satellite to a cloud provider or ground station. SAP Integration suite can then
ingest, process and roue this data into the SAP backend systems.
Architecture Overview:
Technical Flow:
i-Flow Design Steps in SAP Integration Suite:
Sender: HTTP Receiver from cloud IoT platform with the JSON payload.Content Modifier: Extracting GPS, temperature as well as timestampRouter: For applying the conditional logic.Mapping: Conversion of the data type formats which can include JSON-> XML or it can be JSON-> SAP OData Format.Receiver: Pushes data into SAP backend using HTTP or OData destination.
TESTING:
We can simulate IoT platform using tools like Postman.
Conclusion:
This integration would open doors to the smarter asset tracking as well as real-time decision making areas where GSM (Global System for Mobile Communication) is not available. Hence, SAP Integration Suite makes it possible to diminish the gap between remote IoT data as well as the enterprise systems.
