In this blog post I would like to share with you a small new feature we have delivered: When downloading the result of a Mapping Guideline (MAG) simulation you have now the additional option to get the payload in EDI format.
Recap: Using Source EDI Payloads in Integration Advisor
Last year we added direct support for EDI payloads in the Integration Advisor capability of SAP Integration Suite.
In Integration Advisor, there are multiple places where you can make use of your existing payload data:
Create a Message Implementation Guideline (MIG) based on a payloadSimulate a Message Implementation Guideline (MIG)Simulate a Mapping Guideline (MAG)
If your source payload is a text-based (flat-file) EDI message (from B2B Standards like ASC X12, UN/EDIFACT and its subsets, Odette or TRADACOMS), you can use the EDI payload directly as input for these features.
More details can be found in this previous blog post: Link
Download MAG Simulation Result as EDI Payload
So far, EDI support has been limited to source payloads. From the SAP Customer Influence program we have learned that a similar feature would also be interesting for the target payload (see here for more details: Link).
After executing a MAG Simulation, you have the option to download the target payload which was the result of the simulation. For this you can use the Download button – refer above screenshot for MAG Simulation. If your Target MIG represents an EDI message, then you have now the additional option to download the result in EDI format. See screenshot below for the downloaded file of our example.
Conclusion
This blog post explains our new feature to download a MAG simulation result as an EDI payload. This will help you to work even more efficiently with Integration Advisor if you want to compare the simulation result with an existing expected target EDI payload.
(Note: This feature will become available with the August update of SAP Integration Suite which is currently rolled out to all data centers.)
