Welcome to our October edition of the Top 10 Features! As the autumn leaves fall, we’re harvesting a fresh batch of enhancements designed to transform your SAP application lifecycle management experience
Let’s explore how these new features can help you navigate your cloud journey with greater confidence and agility!
IMPLEMENTATION UPDATES
1. Enhanced Test Case Management in Solution Activities
When you call up the details for a solution activity in the Solution Activities list, you can now see information about any Test Cases that are assigned to it. As well as its title, you can also see its Preparation Status (In Preparation or Prepared) and its Variant if one exists. The icon in front of the title indicates whether the test case is automated or manual. Furthermore, after entering Edit mode, you can now also Assign and Unassign test cases for the selected solution activity directly within this list.
Note
The name of the test case is an active link, allowing you to call it up in the Test Preparation app directly.
2. Efficiently Manage Process Hierarchy Node Assignments with Mass Edit Feature
You can now edit the process hierarchy node assignments for multiple solution process in a single action, using the existing Mass Edit button in the Processes app. This can be useful if you need to make multiple changes at once based on Country/Region assignments, for instance. You can edit the process hierarchy node assignments in both display mode and Edit Scope mode by selecting one or more solution processes and choosing Mass Edit.
The following choices are possible:
< Keep Values >: This default value leaves current assignments unchanged. < Clear Values >: Removes all existing process hierarchy node assignments from the selected entries, apart from those that were assigned in Process Authoring.< Assign Process Hierarchy Nodes >: Allows users to search for and select one or more process hierarchy nodes to assign to the current selection. Note that all previous node assignments are retained. < Unassign Process Hierarchy Nodes >: Allows users to search for and select one or more process hierarchy nodes to unassign from the current selection. Note that you cannot unassign nodes that were assigned in Process Authoring.
Note
The entries made here are also applied to solution processes that are not currently scoped or have never been scoped before. Also note that for performance reasons, only the first 100 entries are currently mass edited regardless of how many rows are selected. This may be particularly relevant for users using the Edit Scope function.
3. Process Hierarchy Node Filter Enriches Requirement Traceability
The new Process Hierarchy Node filter in the Requirement Traceability app elevates the capabilities of business analysts and solution architects, allowing them to filter requirements based on their assigned process hierarchy nodes. This feature streamlines the tracing and analysis of requirements relevant to specific business processes, equipping users with better tools to manage process-specific documentation efficiently.
4. Streamlined Library Management with Spreadsheet Upload
Enhance your workflow efficiency by importing Development and Interface elements through our new spreadsheet upload feature. We’ve added two purpose-built templates to guide you through this mass import process, making it easier to organize your libraries more efficiently.
5. New Document History Feature
The document history feature tracks all modifications made to documents throughout their lifecycle. This comprehensive change history becomes accessible as soon as a document transitions from draft status for the first time. Users can easily monitor document evolution, review specific changes, and export the complete history for detailed analysis or reporting purposes.
Note
Documents only have a history starting from the release of this feature. Changes made before this release don’t appear.
6. Reset Test Actions During Test Execution
While running a manual test case, you can now clear a test action’s status and return it to its starting point. This works even after you’ve already saved the test case. Don’t worry – any defects you’ve logged or comments you’ve added will stay connected to that step.
OPERATIONS UPDATES
7. Design Your Own Business Process Monitoring Structures
Beyond the standard out-of-the-box processes in business process monitoring, you can now design and implement custom processes tailored specifically to your organization’s unique workflows. This enhancement allows you to accurately model and track business processes that reflect how your company actually operates.

8. New Download Options for Job and Automation Management

This lets you assess the compliance of your services and systems with the product’s security recommendations. The capabilities are available in a new app called Configuration & Security Analysis – Validation app. You can access it by choosing the Configuration & Security Analysis – Validation tile from the SAP Cloud ALM Launchpad or by choosing Validation from the left navigation.
