​ Static defaults in SAP Advanced Variant Configuration (AVC) are always applied first, so if they get overwritten, the system has to undo and recalculate results. In this video, you’ll see that behavior in the trace (Saturday vs working-day example) and why it creates unnecessary rework.

Then we compare it with dynamic defaults, which are only applied when no special case exists. The result: fewer retractions, less recalculation, and a more efficient configuration flow.
