We took a fleet of ’90s mountain bikes to the rugged trails of Bannau Brycheiniog in South Wales to settle the debate: are these vintage rigs the original gravel bikes? From sketchy flex stems to “gully of death” descents, we put these £150 classics through a proper mountain bike session to see if they hold up or fall apart.
