SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2608 brings new Retail, Fashion, and Vertical Business innovations to help retailers connect promotions across channels, simplify store operations, and manage inventory more effectively across different demand streams.

In this release highlights video, Simon’s AI avatar walks through three key innovations delivered with SAP S/4HANA Cloud Public Edition 2608. See how new capabilities for omnichannel promotion pricing, store receiving, label printing, and fashion inventory segmentation can help retailers address real operational challenges across stores, e-commerce, call centers, and wholesale channels.

You’ll see how SAP Omnichannel Promotion Pricing Service, or OPPS, is now integrated with the Manage In-Store Sales Orders app and Manage Sales Orders – Version 2. When a store associate creates an order, the system can call OPPS in real time to check for eligible promotions. Discounts can be applied automatically to relevant line items, while bonus buy scenarios, such as free goods, can be added directly to the order. Promotion IDs and rule IDs are captured for traceability, helping OPPS serve as a central source for promotions and discounts across POS, e-commerce, call centers, and in-store sales orders.

The video also introduces enhancements to the Receive Products app. Store associates can now post zero-quantity receipts when items are not delivered, helping close purchase order lines directly in the app and reduce back-office coordination. Label print requests can also be triggered from within the receiving process, helping support a smoother end-to-end store receiving experience.

Finally, Simon introduces the first wave of demand and inventory segmentation for fashion retailers. Segmentation characteristics and strategies help tag demand, supply, and inventory by demand stream, such as retail, e-commerce, or B2B wholesale. Once configured, the system helps ensure that the right segmented stock is used for the right channel, supporting more precise inventory allocation and reducing leakage between channels.

Highlights include:
🛍️ Omnichannel Promotion Pricing for in-store sales orders — Apply eligible promotions, discounts, and free goods automatically in the Manage In-Store Sales Orders app and Manage Sales Orders – Version 2.

🎁 Bonus buy support with OPPS — Automatically add free goods as order lines when eligible promotion rules apply.

📦 Zero-quantity receipts in Receive Products — Help store associates close undelivered purchase order or stock transfer order items directly in the app.

🏷️ Label printing from receiving — Trigger label print requests directly from the Receive Products app at the point of receipt.

👗 Demand and inventory segmentation for fashion — Use segmentation characteristics and strategies to help allocate inventory to the right demand stream, including retail stores, e-commerce, and B2B wholesale.

🏬 Manage Product Segmentation app — Enable product segmentation at the distribution center level and carry segmentation attributes through goods movements, outbound delivery, and goods issue.
