Making authentic Chinese food at camp is way easier than it seems! (read more ??)

Chinese food in America has resigned itself to be forever a misconception.

The food represented in local Chinese restaurants do not represent the food that is served in the country of China proper.

Linhbergh and Karissa learn about the not-so-well known Teochew Han Chinese people, and proper non-American-Chinese Chinese food, with food content creator, Stephanie Tea.

They then go out to explore the wildflower superbloom in central California for Linhbergh to take what he’s learned from Stephanie and make a camp version of char kway teow.

The ingredients are relatively simple:
Fresh, or dry, thick cut rice noodles
2 chinese sausages
6-8 medium sized shrimp
2 chicken eggs
½ an onion
4 stalks of green onions
A big handful of bean sprouts
1 tsp of chicken bouillon powder, or MSG
2 Tbsp of soy sauce
2 Tbsp of dark soy sauce
4 Tbsp of Oyster sauce (alternatively, you can get a similar flavor by combining 4 parts of hoisin pho sauce, to 1 part fish sauce)
2 tsp ground white pepper
2 tsp of sugar
2 Tbsp Neutral Cooking oil (not olive oil)
